Morigeau Lepine Children's Furniture Forced to Shut Down

Morigeau-Lépine, a family owned and operated business that has been crafting high-quality children's furniture for more than fifty years was forced to shut their doors yesterday.

Morigeau did everything humanly possible to stay in business, since they filed for Chapter 11, on June 12, 2008. They were successful in getting outside contracts to produce some Office Furniture and were working on a Kitchen Cabinet contract. In addition, Morigeau was aggressively seeking some private investors. Ultimately in this troubled economy, time ran out, and they were forced to close.

It is unfortunate that this is the outcome for Morigeau-Lepine. They have supplied the juvenile industry with a high quality product for many years. Customers are holding on to their dollars tightly in today's current marketplace. Like new cars, customers are not buying higher ticket furniture items like they used to. While these times are challenging, it is even more important to purchase quality products that will last a long time. Years down the road you will be glad you made that choice over the cheapest item.
