Everything a stroller should be; the world’s first power-folding stroller: at the touch of a button, it folds itself. But we should mention it’s also the world’s first ipod-playing, cell phone-charging, LCD-sporting stroller. With a generator in the rear wheels that charges the stroller as you walk, the Origami can power speakers, a phone charger, a speedometer, daytime sunning lights, and the sensors that detect when a child’s in the seat (so it’ll never fold by accident).
Ken Goore was able to play with the 4moms Origami stroller first hand at the ABC Kids Expo. We’re excited to bring you more information on this great stroller and we’re more excited that you’ll be able to get your pre-order in come February 2011. 4moms expects preorders to ship in April 2011. This is very good news!
After playing with this innovative stroller we have come up with some of our favorite features. The Origami has a built in generator, no batteries needed. The system recharges on its own while you walk. You can plug it into a wall or manually close it if needed. A short walk fully charges the battery. Safety is accounted for with the Origami as well, built in sensors protect the stroller from folding in on your baby and the Origami comes equipped with daytime running lights to keep this stroller visible even in the darker hours.
Some other key features we appreciate is the Origami has a LCD interface; the display will let you know if your child is in their seat , if you’re battery is charged, the temperature, the speed your walking, and even how far you have walked during your stroll. No assembly is required making things easier for our daily lives. This stroller is rear facing for bassinet and infant carrier adapters but the toddler seat faces outward so your child can better explore their outside environment. The Origami is also easy to fold; turn the activation ring, press go and then you’re done. You can see this in our video below.
