Supernanny Visits Goore's

Supernanny will be airing tonight at 8pm PST on ABC. As ABC says it, Jo helps a couple with five unruly children who often play around the family's unfenced swimming pool. Swift, the mother of five children, ages 10 months to 11 years, who is also a Boston Marathon-caliber came into Goore’s last April with Supernanny and her crew for the filming of tonight’s show. This is exciting for all at Goore’s!

Maybe you remember this…

With all of this excitement, knowing all of Goore’s will be tuned in tonight at 8pm, we’re hoping that you will join us and watch as well, not only because we will be highlighted on Supernanny but also because Supernanny has a great message for parents.

Tips from 'The Supernanny'

Five positive alternatives to saying "no"

• "Yes, later"
• "Not today"
• "When we've done (the chore), we can do (the fun activity)"
• "Let me think about it"
• "Yes, you may, after your homework is done"

Three strategies for staying calm

• Let go of the idea that your toddler is trying to drive you crazy; that's developmentally impossible in young children.
• Understand the toddler's impulses. Remember that she doesn't understand that her actions affect others.
• Curb your reaction. A child can learn that pushing you to the edge is the fastest way to get what he wants.

Please comment here your thoughts on tonight's show and/or any parenting tips you may have for our readers on how to stay calm or how to say no effectively. Thank you.
