Ever Heard of World Breast Feeding Week?

Happy World Breastfeeding Week.  Have you heard of it?  As many of you are new to the world of breastfeeding with a 1st baby, you probably have not.

This event is celebrated every year for the first 7 days of August around the world to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies. It commemorates a declaration made by the WHO and UNICEF in August 1990 to protect, promote and support breastfeeding around the globe.

Breast feeding is the best way to provide newborns with the nutrients they need. WHO recommends exclusive breastfeeding until a baby is six months old, and continued breastfeeding with the addition of nutritious complementary foods for up to two years or beyond.

Goore's believes in breast feeding as well.  Because of this we offer an extensive array of options to assist you with breastfeeding your new baby.   For your personal comfort we offer the best options for nursing bras and clothing from Medela and Bravado.  If breast feeding is causing you some discomfort you can try one of the nursing comfort & care products to help sooth.  We of course offer the largest selection of the top breast pumps and accessories from Medela and Avent.

If you aren't sure about purchasing a breast pump yet but need to pump for one of many reasons you can now rent online.  Goore's National Breast Pump Rental offers the industry leading, hospital grade Medela Symphony breast pump.  Rent online and have it delivered to your door.  Returns are simple and included with your rental.

Explore all the breast feeding equipment options that best fit your lifestyle - staying at home, back to work or simply need to pump for the "daddy feedings."  Everyone will have their own unique experience with breastfeeding but know it is best for your baby.

  1. It is wonderful that you support breastfeeding. Support from the community really makes a difference.

I'm lucky to have had great support from family and work to breastfeed all my kids when they were little.
